Refer a Patient
When you send a patient here, you are lending us your relationship with them. We treat it that way. You will hear what we found, what we did, and what the tooth needs from you next.
Refer a patient in two minutes
Download the fillable form, complete it, and send it along with your patient. We handle scheduling from there.
If the patient is in pain or the tooth has been traumatized, call us instead. Nobody should wait on paperwork.
What happens after you refer
We contact your patient and get them scheduled. At the visit, we test the tooth and image it, usually with a CBCT scan, before deciding anything.
When treatment is finished, you get a report: what we found, what we did, and what the tooth needs next so you can plan the restoration properly.
The permanent restoration is your call, and your patient's. Dr. Strother is glad to place it if you'd rather she did and is equally glad to send the patient straight back to you.
What we can take on
Dr. Strother is a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics and works under a Zeiss microscope with CBCT imaging and ultrasonics. That covers the routine cases and most of the ones you would rather not start.
Root canal therapy, including calcified and complex anatomy
Endodontic retreatment
Apicoectomy and endodontic microsurgery
Cracked tooth diagnosis
Internal and external resorption management
Perforation repair
Endodontic obstruction removal
Intentional replantation
Regenerative endodontic procedures and vital pulp therapy
Dental trauma, including long-term management of sports injuries
Pediatric endodontics from about age six
Internal bleaching for a single discolored tooth
When you are not sure a tooth is worth saving
Call us. That is a reasonable thing to want a second read on, and it is often a five-minute conversation rather than a referral.
Dr. Strother recommends extraction when the risk is high or the odds of a lasting result are poor. She would rather tell you and your patient that up front than treat a tooth that was never going to hold.
Who your patient will see
Dr. Kortnie Strother took over Rock Creek Endodontics from Dr. Edward Gamson, who opened it on Old Georgetown Road in 1993. She trained at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, practiced endodontics in Austin for 6 years, and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics.
She is the only endodontist here, so the person who diagnoses your patient is the person who treats them.

Our office in North Bethesda
Finding our office
We're in a two-building complex. Our entrance is on the ground floor at the rear of the building. The building sits on a hillside, so the floor you see when you drive up is the second floor, not the ground floor.
To reach us, take the exterior stairs between the two buildings, or use the accessible ramp on the south side of the buildings, closest to the Tilden Lane entrance. If stairs are hard for you, look for the ramp.
If you get turned around, call us and we'll guide you in.
